oriented towards American English, where as IELTS towards British English.
Nowadays, TOEFL which is required by most of overseas institutions is internet based test TOEFL (TOEFL iBT). TOEFL iBT covers 4 skills:
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking (the student talks in front of the computer using the headset, and all the responses are recorded in real time)
IELTS also covers the same skills as TOEFL iBT does, the difference is in speaking, in which the student converses directly with the examiner.
